EMILIAN CI ADVOCATES present LATEST PROJECT

GEANHS' newest team of Continuous Improvement advocates presented their latest CI project in the SDOIC's 1st Plenary Session on September 28, 2021, via Microsoft Teams.

Composed of Mrs. Lerma V. Peña, Ms. Rochelle S. Balete, Ms. Elizabeth Z. Villanueva, and Ms. Babylene A. Sapallida, the team created Project EASSy LAC (Enhanced and Standardized System in Conducting Learning Action Cell) in the New Normal, under the mentorship of Ms. Riza C. Garcia, SEPS. CI Coaches and Learning Area Experts from the SDOIC provided relevant assistance to help improve the project for implementation in school

Private organizations continue to support GEANHS' Brigada Eskwela for SY 2021-2022. On August 25, 2021, STI College Bacoor donated various office supplies, such as bond papers, which are beneficial in implementing distance learning modalities. The school also received cleaning supplies and hygiene supplies such as alcohol and face masks.

DEPED IV-A, DEPED IMUS CITY MONITOR FIRST DAY OF CLASSES IN GEANHS

To ensure readiness of the schools, DepEd Region IV-A CALABARZON and the Schools Division Offie of DepEd Imus City (SDOIC) conducted a series of activities to monitor the opening of classes in GEANHS. 

On September 13, 2021, an on-site monitoring was held through the supervision of SDOIC Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Ivan Brian L. Inductivo; CID Chief, Dr. Glenda DS. Catadman; and SGOD Chief Mr. Ivan Honorpette A. Mijares. Together with Mrs. Lerma V. Peña, school principal, and head teachers, guests visited the modular and online hubs to validate the readiness of the school for implementing distance learning.

The SDOIC also conducted a virtual monitoring of opening of classes in GEANHS on September 15, 2021. Mrs. Peña led the monitoring activity facilitated by Ms. Matea-Alvyn H. Trinidad, SEPS-PRS; Dr. Marilou P. Bronzi, Planning Officer III; Ms. Rochelle S. Balete, OIC-EPS Science; and Mr. Josephus Perseus B. Banaag, PDO I. The technical assistance team provided support and guidance as to delivery of distance learning delivery modalities in SY 2021-2022.

With the support of SDOIC, GEANHS also successfully completed the regional monitoring of opening of classes on September 20, 2021. Held online, Dr. Eduarda M.Zapanta, DepEd IV-A CALABARZON Chief of Education Support Services Division, provided significant inputs as to the implementation of distance learning with focus on safety and wellbeing of learners.
 

GEANHS CONDUCTS FIRST VIRTUAL FLAG CEREMONY FOR SY 2021-2022

Emilian teachers from different grade levels and subject areas gathered virtually for the the first virtual flag ceremony for SY 2021-2022. Department heads and School Principal, Mrs. Lerma V. Peña, provided relevant information, announcements and support to the teachers as to the opening of classes. Amid alternative work arrangements since SY 2020-2021, GEANHS ensures that the flag ceremony would be regularly conducted to uphold nationalism among the school community.

ROTARY CLUBS SUPPORT GEANHS' BRIGADA PAGBASA

A consistent stakeholder of GEANHS' Brigada Eskwela, the Rotary Club once again participated in the school's endeavor to promote literacy in distance education through Brigada Pagbasa.

​

On September 6, 2021 representatives of the Rotary Club of Dasmariñas City, Rotary Club of Baywalk Manila, Rotay Club of Magdiwang, and the Rotary Club of Manila Supreme 198 donated reading materials and references which can be used as supplementary materials for reading classes and interventions. Mrs. Lerma V. Peña, school principal, accepted the donations.

The Rotary Club is an international humanitarian service organization of professional individuals who aim to provide service to communities and promote goodwill and peace.

GEANHS' BE-LCP FOCUSES ON RESILIENCE OF SCHOOL COMMUNITY

To ensure continuity of quality education in time of the COVID-19 pandemic, GEANHS crafted it Enhanced Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) for SY 2021-2022. With the tagline "Batang Emiliano, Handa sa Pagbabago," the school highlights resiliency as an important factor to overcome the D-VUCAD (disruption, volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity, and diversity) world.

​

On September 3, 2021, the SDOIC's Technical Assistance team, headed by ASDS Ivan Brian L. Inductivo, commended the school's efforts to promote resiliency and provided invaluable insights for improvement and implementation of the BE-LCP.
 

Datacom Institute of Computer Technology joins Brigada Eskwela

Datacom Institute of Computer Technology - Imus joined GEANHS' Brigada Eskwela on August 31, 2021, as they donated gallons of cleaning and sanitation supplies which are essential to keep the school premises and toilets clean. 

Datacom is a private educational institution located along Aguinaldo Highway that offers Senior High School and TESDA courses.
 

EMILIAN CAMPUS JOURNALISTS REPRESENT IMUS CITY IN THE GREEN BEAT INITIATIVE

GEANHS' campus journalists continue their journey in the Green Beat Initiative as they become selected as one of the official radio broadcasting teams in Green Beat Radio. 

​

Student broadcasters from the Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) include Daniela Lorraine Brutas, Precious Blessy Acuña , Daison Cruz, Trixie Mae Del Rosario , Mikayla Luz, Laisha Tabujara, and Renen Collao. 

​

The team will produce a 10-minute radio magazine program about the environment that will be broadcast in local radio stations under The Green Beat Initiative Plus. Their program will also be included among the roster of podcasts by teh Department of Education (DepEd) Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS) and Association of Young Environmental Journalists (AYEJ). 

​

The radio broadcasters will undergo an 8-week training with their school paper adviser, Ms. Melanie Mae N. Moreno, who finished a special training of trainers for the said undertaking.

MR. PEÑA AIDS STRUGGLING READERS IN GEANHS

Recognizing the need for school materials, Mr. Ricky Peña donated supplies for Brigada Pagbasa on August 20, 2021. The school received essential school supplies such as pens, pencils, intermediate paper and bond paper, which are necessary to sustain distance learning modalities during pandemic.

These supplies will be distributed to identified Grade 7 to 10 learners who are part of the reading intervention program of the school to aid them in learning.
 

GEANHS LEARNERS WIN 2021 IMUS SOCIAL MEDIA FEST CONTESTS

Two Emilian learners placed 3rd in two competitions during the 6th Imus Social Media Fest (ISMF) organized by the City of Imus Youth Affairs Office on August 31, 2021. 


Eliza Mei Ongsioco won the People's Choices Award and the 3rd Place in I-Tiktok Mo (TikTok Dance Challege) Category. Ongsioco created her own dance challenge to the remix of ISMF 2016's theme "Kulay ng Imus."

​

Daniela Lorriane B.Brutas also bagged 3rd Place in TuTok: Turo Sa Tiktok (Tiktok Crash Course) Category, where she explained the COVID-19 in an engaging and creative presenration.

​

With the theme "Youth in COVID-19," ISMF 2021 aims to proactively address concerns related to the pandemic.
 

PEÑA, SOLIS RECEIVE GSP SERVICE AWARDS

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines Cavite Girl Scout Council conducted the Court of Awards on August 17, 2021 via Zoom to recognize the exemplary service of its members.

During the ceremony, Mrs. Lerma V. Peña, School Principal was awarded the Jade on Gold Trefoil - Service Award. Ms. Abigail P. Solis, Science Teacher, was also awarded the Silver Trefoil - Service Award. 
 

GEANHS BAGS AWARDS IN 2ND CALABARZON SLAC DOCU-FEST 2021

Emilian teachers showcased their creativity as they bagged recognitions in the Short Docu Film Competition and Photo Essay Contest during the 2nd CALABARZON School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) Docu-Fest 2021 on August 2, 2021.

​

Filipino teacher and School Paper Adviser for "Ang Bayani", Mr. Jerico Hiel B. Astillero's short documentary film entitled "Biyahero" was awarded 5th Best Short Docu Film. The documentary features the dedication of teachers who volunteer as module delivery riders and their impact to the lives of learners and their families.

​

Ms. Kimberly Anne G. Albarillo, English teacher, also won 4th Best Photo Layout and 5th Best Photo Essay for her work, "No Slack--SLAC". The photo essay highlights teachers' ingenuity and collaboration in implementing distance learning.
 

GEANHS PREPARES FOR SY 2021-2022; LAUNCHES OPLAN BALIK ESKWELA

In preparation for the start of School Year 2021-2022, GEANHS conducted the annual Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) from August 16 to September 13, 2021. To protect the health and safety of learners, parents and teachers, OBE was implemented through various communication channels as alternative to the traditional enrollment procedure. 

​

Social media sites and the school website served as venue for online enrollment campaigns to spread information to Emilians who wished to enroll in GEANHS. The school launched its OBE hotline to respond to queries and address concerns on enrollment and other school matters.


GEANHS also strengthened its enrollment process amid pandemic through its Online Enrollment form that students and parents could access through the school website and Facebook Page. For learners with no access to the internet, GEANHS partnered with nearby barangays for mobile enrollment.
