Project Title:  Strengthening School-Based Feeding Program

Problem Statement:  Non-Participating Beneficiaries

The Department of Education through the Bureau of Learners Support Services-School Health Division has implemented the School-Based Feeding Program to address under nutrition among public school children. It primarily aims to improve the nutritional status of the beneficiaries. But despite the school’s effort to accomplish this goal, there have been some students who don’t want to join the program because of different reasons.

Project Objective Statement: To strengthen the School-Based Feeding Program, Coordinators of GARNESUPP will raise awareness among beneficiaries through symposium, workshop and engaging them in activities such as gardening, harvesting, and cooking

Root Cause: There are some reasons that become a burden for a 100% engagement and hesitance of SBFP beneficiaries in the program. These are: Lack of interest, feeding discrimination particularly being labelled, “malnourished”, Health issues and Religion.
