In recognition of the unwavering commitment of cooperatives in the City of Imus, the City of Imus Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial, and Enterprise Development Office (CICLEDO) organized the 2019 Cooperative Awards and Recognition Night on October 25 at Imus Sports Complex. Notable individuals and groups from regular and student cooperatives were awarded, including teachers and a student from GEANHS’ Eskwela Kooperatiba. Kwentong Koop was a social media competition that encouraged student and regular cooperative members to share their stories of hope and success. Maria Lennie A. Erot of X-Aristotle bagged the First Place for the Eskwela Kopperatiba Category and Mr. Ludovico R. Resuello Jr. won First Place for the Regular Category. As a testament to her dedication to improve and sustain the cooperative, Ms. Blessie S. Samson was awarded as the 2019 Outstanding Cooperative Leader in Imus City.

GEANHS students conquered the Inter School Sayaw Bakte held on October 26, 2019 at the Imus Sports Complex, as part of the celebration of Imus City’s 2019 Oktoberload. With coaches Ms. Mary Joy B. Mantes, Mr. Jeffrey Cabreros, and Ms. Hazel T. Hablador, Emilians bagged awards in the group, pair and individual categories. Kendi Mae Sumadila (8-Ivory), Johnryhs Ylagan (10-Marcel), Jonathan Arimbuyutan (8-Opal), John Paul Reguerra (9-Ruth), Rolly Esguerra (9-Amos), John Matthew Batitis (8-Platinum), and Geoffrey Madulid (10-Moore) won the championship for the Group Category. For the Pair Category, John Aragon Dioquino (9 Haggai) and Kateleen Joy Aguirre (8-Gold) bagged the Second Place. Raymond Gerald Sunga (8-Zechariah) also won Seond Place for the Solo Category. Bakte is a local of dance in Imus City, originally performed by farmers as thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest.

With the aim to strengthen science and technology consciousness among the youth, DepEd conducted the 2019 Division Science and Technology Fair. Conducted at Tinabunan Elementary School on October 11, 2019, Emilians bagged awards for Science Investigatory Project (SIP) team categories. Juvert V. Vista, Lyka Christine A. Regala, and Ken Vincent T. Laoreno won the First Place under the supervision of Ms. Lenie D. Villaluna. Also, Ma. Janele C. Salvador, Jason Gabriel D. Bulalacao, and Loreto D. Haquihaca II won Second Place, together with Ms. Corazon V. Mariano.

In recognition of the youth’s gifts in the arts, Emilians participated and won in the 2019 Division Festival of Talent For Sining Ng Tanghalan held on October 10-11, 2019 at General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School. Edrian Apostol won Second Place at Pintahusay, under the mentorship of Mr. Francis P. Gutierrez. Jana Marie Mediodia and Rass E. Ulep were awarded First Place in Direk Ko Ganap Mo, with the guidance of Ms. Michelle M. Felizardo. GEANHS also won First Place for Sineliksik, with participants Daniella Y. Phonbun and Mikyla Luz, with coach Mr. Jerico Heil B. Astillero. Emilians further conquered the competition, gaining First Place in Interpretatibong Pagbasa through the efforts of Eliza Mae M. Ongsioco, Angela Ashlyn C. Arce, Abigail Ferl S. Maluto, Catharinabr. Simba and coach, Ms. Irish V. Baquiran

Emilians showcased their knowledge on population development as they triumphed at the 2019 Division Population Education (POPED) Competitions held on October 10, 2019 at Pasong Buaya 3 Elementary School. Angle Sophia Lubao won First Place in Jingle Writing Contest, under the mentorhip of Ms. Ana Marie T. Avellanoza. Vincent L. Lopez, together with coach, Ms. Susana F. Manantan bagged Third Place in the PopEd Quiz Bee. Division Population Education (POPED) Competitions are conducted annually to sustain awareness and interest in population and development concepts such as responsible parenthood, adolescent reproductive health, and gender and development.

GEANHS’ student journalists have once again proven their expertise in campus journalism as 21 Emilians qualified for the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) during the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held on September 25-26 & October 8, 2019. The three-day activity was held in various locations, namely, Bayan Luma Elementary School, Benedictine Institute of Learning and Gen. Pantaleon Garcia Senior High School.

 

Individual Category The Patriot writers won seven major awards: Renen Collao won First Place in Editorial Cartooning; Johann Saylon earned First Place in Editorial Column; Warren Milana bagged Second Place in Sports Writing; Daniela Brutas got 5th Place in News Writing; Desiree Baluyot earned 5th Place in Copyreading; Carl Timothy Moleta placed 8th in Photojournalism, ang Joseph Peralta placed 10th in Editorial Writing. Ang Bayani journalists also triumphed in the Individual category: Trixie Del Rosario bagged 2nd Place in News Writing; Marcie Ivanna Cruz earned the 3rd spot in Science Writing; Khaiella Magdaraog landed on the 5th spot in Editorial Writing; Girald Boy Gaston also earned 5th place in Sports Writing; Cathrina Simba got the 7th Place in Editorial cartooning; Angeline Olavidez earned 7th spot in Editoring Cartooning; Crystal Dolores gained the 7th place in Copyreading; Marinelle Jabon landed on 9th place in Photojournalism, and Reynaldo Dela Peña got 10th place in Editorial Column Writing.

 

Radio Broadcasting Emilians also excelled in Radio Broadcasting, with Ang Bayani recognized as Over-all Fifth Best Team, resulting from their three key awards: Amaze Sumoroy siezed the 1st Best Script; Jacob Malvar bagged the 3rd Best Infomercial; and Chelyn Muñez finished with 4th Best technical Application. The Patriot’s Marlo Tabusao also earned the 6th Best Technical Application and Sweety Rivera got 7th Best Script.

 

TV Broadcasting The Patriot was awarded Overall Third Best Team, together with other major awards: Jm Lozendo was awarded 1st Best Anchor; Marwin Nimes and Peter Temporal seized 2nd Best Technical Application; Kristina Cassandra bagged 2nd Best Field Reporter; Princess Macasaet and Lorraine Fernando both landed on the 4th spot for Best Anchor and Best Script, respectively. Ang Bayani added to the roster of awards, including: Christel Mecono as 1st Best Field Reporter; Mikyla Luz as 2nd Best Field Reporter; Rosalinda Torres as 2nd Best Anchor; Christel Mecono awarded for 3rd Best Script; Zhacy Espiritu for 3rd Best Devcomm; 3rd Best Technical Application; and Feith Maligaso and Daniella Phonbun for 3rd Best Technical Application.

Collaborative Publishing The Patriot journalists also bagged the Overall Championship for Collaborative Publishing: News Page by Irish Rubenecia; Editorial Page by Rio Belosillo; Feautures Page by Shaienna Magdaraog; Sports Page by Sophia Gordevilla; Cartooning by Eomer Lacandazo; Layout by Mark Dacara, and; 2nd Best Photo Marwin Nimes. Ang Bayani was also recognized as Overall Third Best Team with the following awards: 2nd News Page by Chloe Makasiar; 2nd Best Photo by Andrew Ingco; 2nd Best Layout by Jennylyn Narisma; 3rd Best Features Page; Michelle Gumarang; 4th Best Editorial Page by Christine Repollo; 4th Best Sports Page by Tanya Luzon; and 4th Best Cartoon by Angeline Olavidez.

GEANHS students participated in the various competitions organized as part of the 2019 Division Technolympics. Elementary, Junior High School, and Senior High School students competed with skills and determination to win. Mentored by TLE teachers, GEANHS was able to bag five awards from the competition: Samantha Kay S. Undaloc and coach Ms. Jocelyn C. Baldicañas won Third Place in Dressmaking; Edsiel M. Sanchez and coach Ms. Colette Paulette C. Clerigo won Third Place in Beauty Care; Franceen Mae P. Malapo and Giane B. Guanzon won Second Place in Food Processing, with the support of Ms. Florly I. Pitogo; Angel Otero and coach Mr. Mark Joseph Escober got Second Place ain Electrical Installation & Maintenance; and Trisha Mae E. Fabroa with coach Mr. Al Z. Postrado bagged Third Place in Technical Drafting. The Division Technolympics is an annual competition for students to showcase their skills in EPP, TLE and TVL and to upgrade their competence and confidence in facing life’s challenges.

To ensure the proper implementation of the 2nd Periodical Test, Dr. Marciano V. Valles, Education Program Supervisor conducted a monitoring of classes taking the examination. On October 17, 2019, GEANHS administrators and teachers welcomed Dr. Valles and accompanied him in various classrooms where both teachers and students accommodated him. The Periodical Tests ended successfully, through the efforts of the entire school community.

In accordance to the City of Imus’ objective to promote and strengthen environmental programs in the city, the City Agriculture Service Office conducted the Search for Organikong Gulayan sa Paaralan. As part of 2019 Farmers Week, Gulayan sa Paaralan Coordinators and school heads gathered at SP Multipurpose Hall, SP Building, Imus City on October 7, 2019. Among the schools in Imus City, GEANHS was awarded 2nd Place, for its continuous commitment to maintain and improve the school garden. GEANHS’ Principal, Mrs. Lerma V. Pena received the award, together with Ms. Crisanta F. Caudal, Head Teacher IV, and Ms. Ma. Alodia B. Marges, GPP Coordinator.
